A 17-year-old was placed under arrest by Salinas Police on Thursday for an alleged connection to a drive-by shooting that took place last month.
The drive-by occurred on the early morning of June 7, when a black Mercedes turned around at the corner of Del Monte Avenue and Towt Street. Multiple rounds were fired at three people who were standing on the corner, according to eyewitness account.
Multiple .40 caliber casings were found on the roadway by police.
While police were investigating, a suspect was identified.
The suspect, who is not named due to being a minor, was served a search warrant on Thursday, and was booked into Monterey County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
