Double-Murderer Labore Seeks Parole 1-30-19 16:20 DC

Last August, Gov. Jerry Brown reduced the sentence of a convicted double-murderer from 60-years-to-life to a minimum 20 years which she has almost completed in connection with two 1998 killings.

In changing the sentence of Kimberly Labore, the governor said he was impressed by how the former methamphetamine user became sober, now donates to charity, and volunteers for a hospice while in state custody.

The 47-year-old Labore will appear for a parole hearing Feb. 7 at Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla. Her warden says she’s ready for freedom but the family of one of her victims says they will be there to protest the release. They say that regardless of her progress, a double murderer deserves to remain in jail for longer than 20 years,
