Along with other changes, a project (that is in the very early planning stages) would add 410 new parking spaces to Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. The new parking spaces would be in a 3-level parking garage. Although officials say they plan to add 84,000 square feet to the existing hospital, they do not plan to increase the footprint of the hospital itself. Along with more parking spaces, the renovation is planned to include converting all semi-private rooms into private rooms, creating a new surgery department with larger operating rooms, etc. Hospital officials say that they submitted a Design Permit and Planned Unit Development Permit Application yesterday to the Santa Cruz Planning Department.
