Dmv’s around the state were conducted limited business for about 4 hours Tuesday after a computer-network failure led to a shutdown of computers throughout the system. The outage was reported as offices of the department of motor vehicles opened at 8 a.m. driving tests were still conducted at various DMV offices, but other business was suspended until the network was restored by 12:30 p.m. the shut down was linked to a problem with a Verizon router. The problem affected computers in other state departments as well. Technicians are trying to identify what exactly caused the outage.
