A man accused of setting his family’s dog on fire appeared for his preliminary hearing this afternoon. Devonte Marquis Sirwet is next due back in court May 17th for a Competency Hearing. Sirwet, who faces charges of animal theft, animal cruelty, arson, and possession of controlled substances, is being held in Monterey county jail with no bail.
