(07:51) CALIFORNIA – Bicyclists and motorists in California will soon be prohibited from wearing headphones, earbuds or earplugs. Beginning January 1, anyone wearing a device that covers or is inserted in both ears while driving a car or riding a bicycle will be subject to fines of up to $250. SB 491 was filed in October with the goal of improving traffic safety and limiting distractions on the road. The law does not apply to anyone operating emergency vehicles, construction equipment and refuse or waste equipment. (S.G.)
