(17:51) SALINAS- The Deputy Chief for the Salinas Police Department is retiring. Deputy Chief Terry Gerhardstein will attend his final briefing as a Salinas police officer on Wednesday. Gerhardstein is a 30 year veteran of the department and has been named as officer of the year, volunteer of the year and was recognized with a distinguished service award. At this time on replacement has been named.
