(10:10) Monterey County – According to caltrans Highway 1 IS expected to reopen today by 2 p.m. The road was closed last night at around 8:00 due to rocks and debris in the roadway, and remained closed overnight because of safety concerns. The area that was affected was from Ragged Point, in San Luis Obispoi County, to the Ventana Inn & Spa in Big Sur. When Caltrans came back out at 5:30 this morning, they updated the closure location from two miles south of Lucia to just south of Gorda, and distance of about 13 miles.
