December 15, 2015: Transient Arrested in Salinas for Reckless Evading, Vehicle Theft

(07:19) SALINAS – A transient was arrested in Salinas early Tuesday morning for vehicle theft and evading arrest. Deputies were patrolling in the area of East Laurel Drive and Natividad Road shortly before 3 a.m. when they spotted 31-year-old Matthew Giles driving a stolen vehicle. Giles led law enforcement on a high speed chase for 20 miles before his vehicle broke down. He was apprehended and booked into Monterey County Jail. (S.G.)
