(09:43)BEN LOMOND – The San Lorenzo Valley Water District is preparing for severe winter storms. The district announced it has been planning for an operational emergency response to El Nino conditions, focusing its efforts in five areas; including extended loss of power, generator and vehicle fuel, inventory, staffing and staff safety. In preparation, the agency will also be joining the California Wastewater Response Network which will provide the district with the resources necessary to recover from a possible disaster. With previous El Nino events increasing average precipitation by 200 percent, the district is taking all precautionary measures to ensure safety. (C.G.)
