(10:30) MARINA- A Marina couple both died as a result of a Thursday night domestic dispute. Authorities say that shortly before 8:30 p.m. patrol units responded to a report of a woman being stabbed by her husband on 3000 block of Independence Avenue. Upon arrival officers witnessed 54 year old Thomas Gendreau assaulting 58 year old Rubie Gendreau-Whitaker. Police opened fire on the attacker, fatally wounding him. The victim also died of her injuries. The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave as the incident is investigated.
