Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing his list of "bad foods". Stating that it is impossible to out supplement a bad diet. Asserting that poeple should avoid oils, processed meats, burnt meats and other processed foods that might contain nitrates or nitrites. Contending these foods can be linked to a laundry list of common health challenges that Americans deal with daily.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a study of ginseng. The Chinese have been using ginseng as a medicinal herb for over 2000 years. Ginseng contains a compound called ginsenosides that inhibit tumor growth. A study published in the journal Chemico-Biological Interactions found that ginsenosides reduced the average volume of tumors by 40%.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the the show today discussing the importance of supplementation. Stating that it is not possible to get all the nutrients the human body needs to thrive through foods. Contending that plants only need three nutrients to thrive. But that humans need the 90 essential nutrients he has identified to thrive. Asserting that people also should change their lifestyle and stay away from bad foods such as oils and burnt meat.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article that outlines ten foods that can aid in weight loss. Some of the foods Doc agrees with and some he does not agree are good. The foods are lean meats, leafy greens, olive oil, avacado, eggs, nuts, water, vineger, salmon and oats. Doc doesn't agree with olive oil (goes rancid), nuts (if stored improperly can get fungus), vineger and oats (both contain gluten). Contending people should stay away from the bad foods to add healthy years to people's lives.

Supposedly to prevent SIDs (sudden infant deaths) by not allowing babies to sleep on their stomachs. Doc contends that the main stream medical industry has the cause of SIDs all wrong. Asserting that SIDs are caused by cardiomyopathy heart attacks due to a single nutrient deficiency.

Some have anti-inflammatory properties in addition.

Stating that most were probably taking out loans against their homes. Asserting that if people would do more for themselves they could cut health costs. By doing health tests at home they would save on office visits and the related costs.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story on a study of dietary habits. Poor diets has now been associated with 1 in 5 deaths worldwide. Equating to 11 million deaths every year worldwide. Listing a poor diet as high intake of unhealthy foods, such as red meat, processed meats and sugar laden drinks. Another part of this is low intake of healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains and seeds.
