Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing common chronic disease states. Outlining obesity, diabetes, kidney failure, high blood pressure and cancer. Stating they are all preventable through proper diet and nutritional supplementation. Contending that most of these are also reverable through lifestyle changes and supplementation.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a survey of diabetics. Finding that nearly half don't always take their medications because they can't afford them. Three companies Eli Lily, Sanofi and Novo Nordisk control 99% of the market. There also is no generic version of insulin even though the drug has been around for 100 years. From 2003 to 2013 the price of insulin has nearly tripled.

Contending that the shooter was paranoid and had been stock piling guns and ammunition for more than a decade. Asserting that this kind of behavior is due the person missing a single nutrient. Stating that this single mineral was used to treat violent people since before the birth of Christ.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about the billion dollar cancer industry. In the 1940s one in 16 people were diagnosed with cancer. By the 1970s the ratio rose to one in ten. At present one out of two males are at risk developing some form of cancer and women the ratio is one in three. The National Cancer Instute estimates the cost of treating cancer by 2020 will rise to $173 billion.

If these nutrients are not replaced people are at risk of getting all sorts of health challenges. Recommending that all people should be supplementing with all 90 essential nutrients.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss new studies are stating that eating red meat may not be as bad as we have been told. Recommending consumers who eat as much as four servings per week can continue to do so. Obviously physicians groups and the American Heart Association are still telling people to stay away from red meat. Doc asserts that its not the red meat but how the meat is cooked that makes it dangerous.
