Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Stating they can be reversed and prevented through lifestyle changes and nutritional supplementation. Contending that many times the various dementias are deemed to be Alzhiemer's disease. Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning pre-diabetes. A study found that many doctors are missing risk factors of pre-diabetes in their patients. So many that need to be treated are not being treated. Pre-diabetes affects millions of Americans putting them at risk of heart disease and stroke. Without treatment the patients are also at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Contending that when doctors tell patients to eat the "good foods" and they will get all the nutrients they need it's a lie. Stating that there are very few nutrients in crops and there are no nutrients are in the soils.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study of the effacacy of current heart treatments. Researchers finding that the use of stents and bypass surgeries are no more effective than intensive drug treatments. Standard treatment has been implanting stents (wire mesh tubes) to hold open clogged arteries or bypass surgeries that re-direct blood around the blockage. The large study contends that the invasive procedures aren't necessary in patients who are not experiencing angina or chest pain.
