Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the eight different dementias. Contending that a person can one two three or all eight different dementias. Stating that these dementias are all due to nutritional deficiencies. Asserting that through lifestye and dietary changes these dementias can be prevented and even reversed.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a study of Allium vegetables. These are vegetables like garlic, onions, leeks, chives, and shallots. A Chinese study found that people who consumed the most Allium vegetables had a 79% lower colorectal cancer risk compared to those who ate the least. Researchers recommend people eat 35lbs of Allium vegetables per year. That's 1.5 oz or one onion every day.

Citing common health challenges and stating they are all due to the lack of a single mineral. Contending they can be reversed and prevented through nutritional supplementation. Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article a study of ADHD. Researchers looked at children and adolescents ages 6 to 17 diagnosed with ADHD. Separating them into two groups giving one group 30mg of saffron daily for six weeks. The other group getting the standard treatment of Ritalin. After six weeks researchers found that saffron worked just as well as Ritalin at addressing ADHD symptoms.
