A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing the benefits of people doing their own healthcare. Contending the insurance companies are ripping people off with huge deductables. Stating that the medical system has failed us with medical mistakes being the number three leading cause of death in the U.S.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning the case of a five year old girl who died of an asthma attack. She went to Dr. Joanne Rowe and was turned away because she was four minutes late to her appointment. All the while Dr. Rowe knew the girl was at risk of another life-threatening asthma attack. She also didn't even asks the mother about the girl's symptoms. Her punishment was a six month paid suspension by a secret disciplinary panel.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing a news article regarding a British study. Researchers found that those who drank four or more cups of coffee daily tend to live longer. The effect holds true even for decaffenated coffee so it's not the caffeine. Doc asserts that most likely it is the flavonoids found in coffee. Also stating that people need to supplement the 90 essential nutrients because there are no longer any nutrients in foods.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding recent actions from the DOJ (Department of Justice). Over 600 medical professonals have been indicted for medical fraud. One doctor alone defrauded Medicare over $112 million handing out over 2 million unnecessary doses of oxycodone and fentanyl. It is one the most massive sweep of criminal charges in one single law enforcement action.

Associated with some 6800 adverse events with some 887 deaths. Between 2011 and 2015 the FDA fast tracked drugs up to 60 days faster than in Europe. Aslo citing drugs that were rejected in Europe but approved in the U.S. by the FDA.
