Faced with the prospect of either a prostatectomy, radiation or both he looked for alternatives. What his oncologist recommended is a new study started in 2011 called the MEAL study. The simple goal of the study is to get men with low or extremely low risk stage prostate cancer increase fruit and vegatable intake. Researchers hope to see if an increase in dietary fruits and vegatables will slow the progression of the disease.
