Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

But the fast food chains add chemical to increase the shelf life to around two weeks. Azodicarbonamide a dough conditioner is added to make the bun cushy. The same chemical is used to make yoga mats and shoe rubber has been banned in Europe and Australia. The article also outlines several other chemicals added that all cause health problems aside from the added sugars.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study of breast cancer patients. The study looked almost 500,000 women with breast cancer that had not spread. Researching whether they just had the tumor removed, the whole affect breast or both breasts. Finding for those who chose to have the healthy breast removed their chances of dying weren't any lower than those who chose other options.

Outlining various foods that contain minerals that are known to be deficient in many people. Doc asserts that poor farming isn't the reason why so many people are vitamin and mineral deficient. Contending the deficiencies are because the nutrients aren't in the food because they aren't in the soil either. That is why it is important to supplement vitamins and minerals.

Researchers at the University of Manitoba in Canada found that women who are underweight with a BMI lower than 22.5 had a 44% higher risk of dying during the study period. While women who had more than 38.7% total body fat had 19% higher death rates. Men with a BMI 23.8 or lower had 45% higher death rates during a follow-up period. Men with 36% or more total body fat were at 59% higher risk of dying during the study period.
