Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Wallach starts the show today discussing the new alliance with the Suzanne Summers company "Suzanne". Outlining several of the wonderful products available through "Suzanne" such as wines, make-up, spices, organic foods etc. Doc also lists several of the benefits of owning a home-based business.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding dermatologists. Apparently there is now a growing trend among this speciality that caters to the cosmetic procedure patients at the expense of the patients with real medical problems such as, acne, psoriasis and skin cancer. The cosmetic patients get preferential treatment such as an in person receptionist answering the line as opposed to an automated attendant. As well as nicer waiting and treatment rooms for the cosmetic patients who are handled with "first-class" treatment while medical patients get "coach" treatment.

Dr. Wallach begins the show talking about the recent decision by the governor of California to reduce state workers wages to minium wage until the state Senate can pass a budget resolution.  Recommending that people "recession-proof" their lives with a home-based business through Youngevity.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a Spanish research study on osteoarthritis.  The study found that although worn knee joints are more prevelant that worn hip joints.  The was a greater "need" for hip replacement procedures than knee replacements.  Doc asserts that neither were necessary if the joints were rebuilt with the correct nutritional supplementation program.

Dr. Wallach starts the show today discussing type II diabetes.  Quoting statistics from a study involving soft drinks and fruit juices.  Although both are loaded with sugars in the form of high fructose corn syrup those drinking the sugary juices and a 7% increased risk of deveoping type II diabetes.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story concerning a hospital in San Diego, CA that is currently under investigation by both Federal and state agencies.  The investigation centers around several "preventable deaths", unsanitary conditions in both the operating room and the kitchen as well as the use of dated medications.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss two news stories the first concerns the surgeon who was accused of hastening a patient's death in order to harvest organs.  The courts have now dismissed 2 felony charges.  The doctor also wants the third and final charge dropped as well.  Second they discuss a CDC study that found women who are diabetic before becoming pregnant are more likely to have children with birth defects.
