Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing several common health challenges such as cardiomyopathies and aneurysms. Asserting these are all preventable and often reversable through nutritional supplementation. Citing specific nutrients and what diseases that come about due to deficiencies.

 

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study on cancer. The study found that a compound in sea cucumbers actually kills 95% of cancer cells. As well as 90% of melanoma cells, 95% of liver cancer cells and 88% of lung cancers cells. The compound also stimulates the immune system and impedes the process that also cancer to metastisize.

Dr. Wallach starts the show today discussing gluten intolerance and links to celiac disease, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), Crohn's disease and lupus. Explaining how this intolerance to gluten causes the small intestine to become inflammed much like skin exposed to poison oak. Contending this causes people to suffer a myriad of health challenges due to a lack of nutrient absorbtion.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a film out that is promoting vaganism. Although the film is promoting a vegan lifestyle not supported by Dr. Wallach it does point to some important health ideas. Such as the idea that many if not all health challenges can be prevented and reversed by proper diet and nutritional supplementation.

Dr. Wallach starts the show today discussing the increasing number of young athletes that are dying. Contending they are dying from cardiomyopathy heart attacks. Doc asserts that cardiomyopathy heart attacks are caused by a selenium deficiency. Stating that people would supplement their diets with the 90 essential nutrients they can prevent and reverse most chronic diseases.

The article is the story of writer for the Washington Post Christie Aschwanden and her recent experience with her gynocologist. The doctor giving her a prescription for a mammogram without any discussion. Causing the reporter to do her own research and discover getting a mammogram at her age would probably do more harm than good.

Asserting this is due to nutritional deficiencies and too many antipychotic drugs. Asserting that psychiatrists keep patients on the drugs for years rather than trying to find the root cause.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study on the health benefits of grape seed extract. Boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation and improving circulation. Researchers at University of Kentucky found the antioxidants in grape seed extract killed 76% of leukema cells after they were exposed.
