The report also states that if there were more awareness of how to prevent skin cancer some 21,000 cases of melanoma could be prevented each year for a total of 230,000 over a decade. Also recommending avoiding the sun by staying in the shade, wearing protective clothing such as wide brim hats, sunglasses and wearing sun screens.
