Contending there are four types of dementia, vascular dementia, Korsakoff's syndrome, Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. Asserting that all are simple nutrient deficiencies and can be easily avoided by nutritional supplementation.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study on coffee and reduced links to oral cancer. Researchers from the American Cancer Society studied nearly 1 million healthy men and women who filled out dietary questionaires. The questions included those regarding coffee and tea consumption following the participants for 26 years. Finding those who drank one cup of caffeinated coffee daily had a 26% reduced risk of dying from oral or throat cancer, 33% lower risk among those who drank two to three cups and a 50% lower risk for those who drank four to six cups daily.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the school shooting in Connecticutt. Contending that these kinds of killings are the fault of the medical system by trying to control people who have mental problems with drugs. Then the patient goes off the drugs and goes wild.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story on links between cancer treatments and osteoporosis. More and more patients are finding they are at risk of osteoporosis because of an increase in the use of antiestrogen therapies. Men are also seeing an increased risk of osteoporosis because of an increase in the use of androgen-deprivation therapy. In both of these therapies the drugs block hormone production and hormones are instrumental in bone building.

Outlining how he put together his book "Immortality" where he explains the common threads of peoples that have higher numbers of people living to be 100 years old or more. Contending that Americans have less centenarians than other cultures that are often third world countries without access to healthcare.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning the Global Burden of Disease Study 2010. Researchers looked at health and disease trends of 187 countries. Once again Japan tops the list as it has for the past two decades. The U.S. ranked 29th among men tied with Norway while women ranked 33rd tied with Estonia.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing weight gain and obesity. Stating the U.S. is now number one in the world in rates of obesity. Asserting that the government and medical doctors "have it all wrong" as to what causes obesity and weight gain. Contending they believe weight gain and obesity is caused by excess when he believes it is caused by mineral deficiencies.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach continue discussing weight gain and obesity. A new report published in the British journal Lancet outlines the findings of the "Global Burden of Disease. Nearly 500 researchers from 50 nations looked at health date from 1990 until 2010. Finding that obesity is a global epidemic as more and more countries are turning towards a "Western lifestyle". In fact with the exception of countries in sub-Saharan Africa obesity rates are growing at alarming rates. With increases in obesity of 82% globally and in Middle Eastern countries that rate is 100%.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing a report out on diabetes. The report states that more and more people are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes every year. The complications associated with diabetes such as amputations, blindness and weight gain are also increasing. Doc asserts that diabetes is not genetic as many doctors often tell their patients.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding healthcare in Boise, Idaho. Apparently a few years ago the largest provider in the city St. Luke's Health System started buying up all of the private practices from doctors of all types. Now over half of the 1400 doctors in southwestern Idaho are employed by St. Luke's or a smaller company St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. A monopoly is now in place and doctors are forced to meet financial goals by performing unnecessary procedures and test or by admitting patients that don't need to be hospitalized. With some procedures quadrupling in price as well as preferential agreements with providers.
