Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about the longest living people on the planet. People living in the Nagano area of the Japanese Alps women average 87.2 years and men live 80.9 years compared to the highest life expectancy in the U.S. is 84.7 for women and men at 78 years. The article contends this happened because of a campaign by the government to reduce salt intake. Doug asserts that these people eat a lot of vegetables and most likely water their gardens with glacial milk from the area.

Contending most if not all of the tests and procedures performed by doctors can actually be done at home. Cost a lot less than the cost of going for a doctors office visit for routine tests. Outlining several of these tests and how they can be done by people without their doctor.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study of mammograms. Researchers looked the results of over 2 million mammograms of women ages 40 to 74 between 1994 and 2009. Finding around 180,000 false positives and checked whether additional imaging or biopsy that did not support a cancer diagnosis. They found those who had false positives and had additional treatment had an increased risk of a cancer diagnosis within a decade.

Asserting that they have access to the best doctors, the best foods, best training and lifestyles. But they are re-hydrating with drinks that have either no or very few nutrients.

The list compiled by the American Board of Internal Medicine state these tests expose patients to unnecessary procedures that often lead to injury or even death. They contend nuclear stress tests, yearly electrocardiograms, PSA tests, PET scans for Alzheimer's, x-rays, CT scans, or MRIs for lower back pain, yearly Pap tests, bone density tests of women over 65 and men over 70, ultrasounds for ovarian cysts, colonoscopies after age 75 and yearly physicals.
