Dr. Wallach starts the show talking about the 80 million baby boomers that are headed for epidemics of all kinds. Specifically he addresses the growing number of obese adults in the U.S. Also asserting that many of these over-weight and obese adults are also at risk for developing type II diabetes. Contending that this doesn't need to happen because both problems are a result of nutritional deficiencies.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning conflict of interest among doctors who invent medical devices. The story highlights a specific case where a woman had an annuloplasty ring implanted for a leaky mitral heart valve. After the surgery she discovered the device was not on the original list provided by her surgeon. Upon further investigation she learned the device that was implanted had been invented by her own surgeon. To make matters worse she also found out the device was not approved by the FDA.

Doc contends that trying outlaw gun is not the answer asserting that no one is looking at violent games played by young people, how much sugar these kids are consuming or how many energy drinks. Also stating that these kids need to be institutionalized.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a research study on Alzheimer's disease. The study found that people over the age of 65 with the highest blood levels of HDL (high-density lipoprotein) are 60% less likely to develop Alzheimer's in the four years of the study.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing medical mistakes. Outlining the fact that surgeons in VA hospitals make 3000 mistakes a year resulting in 700 veteran deaths every year. Doc asserts that the U.S. doesn't need gun control laws but rather medical doctor control laws.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a news article on a study of regular use of aspirin. The study found that those taking aspirin on a regular basis had an increased risk of getting a form of AMD (age related macular degeneration). After factoring for other risk factors researchers found a statistically significant increased risk of wet AMD for those taking aspirin compared to those who don't take aspirin.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing his research from the 1970s on cystic fibrosis. Where was able to cause cystic fibrosis in monkeys and when his finding were presented he was fired. He also discussed his research on MD (muscular dystrophy) and when he gave the research to Jerry Lewis it caused him to be fired as well.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article on a women who died from lung cancer after getting a lung transplant. After the fact her family found out the lungs came from a heavy smoker. Doc asserts that he could have helped the woman with his knowledge about cystic fibrosis.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the various types of dementia. Contending there are four types of dementia, vascular dementia, Korsakoff's syndrome, Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. Asserting that all are simple nutrient deficiencies and can be easily avoided by nutritional supplementation.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study on coffee and reduced links to oral cancer. Researchers from the American Cancer Society studied nearly 1 million healthy men and women who filled out dietary questionaires. The questions included those regarding coffee and tea consumption following the participants for 26 years. Finding those who drank one cup of caffeinated coffee daily had a 26% reduced risk of dying from oral or throat cancer, 33% lower risk among those who drank two to three cups and a 50% lower risk for those who drank four to six cups daily.
