Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach begins the show discussing a news article about a report out from the CDC. The report states that one in three American adults eat fast food at least once a day. Researchers found that 37% of adults admited to eating fast food within the past 24 hours. A long thought aspect of fast food eaters was debunked. It was long thought that lower income people ate the most fast food. Which it turns out this is not the case. The highest income group actually ate the most fast food.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the one year anniversary of the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Contending the shooter Steven Paddick had been placed on anti-psychotic and anti-depression drugs. Asserting the side effects of these drugs are homicidal and suicidal thoughts. Stating that most of the mass shooters have been on these same types of drugs. But no one ever talks about this aspect of the these shootings.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a report out from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). The report states that middle aged people are "a ticking time bomb for heart trouble". Stating that in 2016 there were 2.2 million hospitalizations for cardiovascular conditions and 415,000 deaths. With 775,000 hospitalzations and 75,000 deaths ages 35 to 64 in 2016.

Contending that as with many health challenges it can be linked to digestive problems causing dirty blood.

Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss a news article about a study of a cinnamon compound. A concentrated form called cinnamaldehyde. Researchers were looking for an alternative to antibiotics. Given that fact that current antibiotics are becoming less and less effective. After the study researchers found that the cinnamaldehyde killed biofilms 75% of the time. Biofilms are sticky concentrated that attach themselves to surfaces. For example plaque on teeth is a form of a biofilm.
