Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the "good food bad food" diet. Contending that eggs are a perfect food. Outlining the healthy aspects of eating eggs. Stating that eggs should be poached or boiled and not fried. Asserting that people should stay away from the bad foods like fried foods, oils and should probably go gluten free.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss news article concerning a study from the CDC. From a survey of nearly 6000 people researchers found that 26% of U.S. adults sit for more than eight hours daily. While 46% of these people don't get any moderate or vigorous exercise. With 11% sitting for more than eight hours and are physically inactive. It's long been known that lack of physical exercise is linked to a host of health challenges.

If a person finds they do have a health challenge they can deal with it and it won't be on their pernament record. Also stating that everyone should do a hair analysis to check their health status.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article reporting statistics out from the National Institutes of Health. The report states that in 2017 more than 72,000 died from drug overdoses. Of those 49,060 died from opioid abuse in that same year. That's more than people who died from guns or automobile accidents. In 2015 opioid sales brought in more than $9.6 billion for Big Pharma.

Stating the importance of nutitrional supplementation with all 90 essential nutrients. Because many of the nutrients need co-factors in order to be used by the body.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss new activity guidelines released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human services. The guidelines state even a little exercise is beneficial compared to no exercise at all. Adults are supposed to get 150 to 300 minutes of moderate to vigorous aerobic activity each week. Children ages 6 to 17 are supposed to get one hour of moderate to vigorous activity daily. Another chage to the guidelines now including kids 3 to 5 years old should be getting three hours of activity daily.
