Monologue

Dr. Wallach discusses a news article regarding the deaths two nobel prize winning lauriets.  Asserting that even as intelligent as they were they didn't live to be 100.  One dying in his eighties and the other in his early nineties.  Doc goes on to outline that billionares, athletes and doctors don't live to be 100.  Contending that wealth, intellect nor fitness help people live to be 100.  But simple good nutrition can extend life as has been accomplished in animals.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent research study regarding the cost of extended life.  Researchers at Harvard University and the University of Michigan found that the average cost of one year of extended life is $19,900.  Doug asserts that for nearly $20,000 people could buy a lot of "Pig Packs".  The study also found that by the 1990's 65 year olds paid about $145,000 for each year of extended life.
