Dr. Wallach explains how the new Youngevity product "Slender FX" acutally works. Outlining how the product mimics a hormone called leptin that the body produces when it senses starvation. So when people count calories and diet the body actually produces more leptin. Which in turn intstructs the body to store more of it's nutrients as fat. Primarily storing the fat in the abdomin and buttocks regions of the body. The "Slender FX" mimics this hormone thus faking the body into not storing fat and in turn burning stored fats.
Pearls of Wisdom
Doug and Dr. Wallach discuss a couple of recent news stories. The first concerns a USDA study that found watermelon stored at room temperature (70F) actually has more nutrients when compared to melons stored at refrigerator temps (41F). Second Doug discusses a Danish study that found Inuits living a traditional lifestyle of eating fish and seal had lower blood pressure, lower levels of blood triacylglyerol and less insulin resistance.
