Monologue

Nurse Joanne Conaway fills in for Dr. Wallach.  Joanne starts the show today discussing the growing problem of obesity in this country.  Asserting that most of the problem is because of poor eating habits such as snacking on candies, cookies, cakes and pies.  Recommending the "Tru Chocolate" product as a method of curbing those snacks and aiding in weight loss.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Joanne Conaway discuss a recent study of bottled water in the U.S.  The top 10 brands of bottled water were tested and the results indicated that most bottled water is no better than tap water when it comes to contaminants.  Researchers found 38 chemicals in the bottled water including bacteria, caffeine, acetaminophen, fertilizer, solvents, plastic-making chemicals and radioactive strontium.  In addition bottled water is on average 1900 times more expensive than tap water.
