According to the CDC over half of U.S. adults (54.5% or 47 million) could benefit from taking cholesterol lowering statins like Lipitor. The FDA has warned that Lipitor has a history of inducing higher blood sugar levels. It has long been known that long term high blood sugar levels can lead to type 2 diabetes.
