Dr. Wallach talks about a recent news story regarding the destruction of several chickens in Thailand and China that were infected with the avian flu.  Asserting that so far the disease has killed 180 humans and it's only a matter of time until human to human infection occur.  Doc outlines several ways for people to prepare for a possible pandemic.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug and Dr. Wallach discuss a report published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.  The report came from data analyzed by Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian of Harvard Medical School.  The study found a link between the consumption of broiled or baked fish and healthier heart rhythms.  Those that eat fish once a week had slower heart rates compared to those who ate fish less than once a month.  The study also noted that the intake of fish five times a week had even healthier heart rhythms.  The intake of fried fish was not associated with healthier heart function.
