Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing deaths during delivering babies. Citing the story of the doctor who noticed that midwives always washed their hands before touching the mother or baby. Also noticing that doctors often did not wash their hands before touching patients. After the doctor went public with this information he was found beaten to death.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about the rate of diabetes in the U.S. More than 30 million Americans now have diabetes. Nearly 16% of men have diabetes and about 12% of women have diabetes. One out of every three people in the U.S. have diabetes. With about 10% diagnosed and another 4% of people having diabetes without knowing they have diabetes.
