Monologue

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing medical mistakes. Contending that medical mistakes are now the third leading cause of death in the U.S. Citing the specific numbers such as 688 people a day are killed by medical mistakes. Also stating that people need to become their own health advocate doing their own tests at home.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about cholesterol and eggs. The article states that in the late 1970s doctors saw a correlation between blood levels of cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Believing that a high cholesterol diet could lead to heart attack and stroke. So for the next forty years doctors demonized eggs and cholesterol in the diet. In 2013 a study came out that indicated this notion is wrong. In fact the human body needs cholesterol to make hormones.
