Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss a news article concerning a study of sea anemones. Sea anemones have the ability to repair and regrow their tentacles. Which are much like the hair cells in mammals ears. These structures convert vibrations in the air into nerve signals that are sent to the brain allowing mammals to hear. Researchers used a repair protein secreted by the sea anemones. Finding when applied to the stereocilia the structure “recovered significantly”.
