Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing cystic fibrosis. Outlining the story of how he discovered that the disease in not genetic as had been previously thought. As he was able to create the disease in monkeys and then reverse the symptoms. When he brought his research to his supervisors at Emory University they didn’t agree with his research and fired him. Decades later the university released a paper stating that an unnamed researcher had made the discovery that cystic fibrosis is a nutritional deficiency.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding statements recently made by the FDA. The FDA report states that Kellogs Frosted Flakes are healthier than an avocado. This because the avocado has 4.5 grams of fat in an ounce serving. While the Frosted Flakes has zero fat. They also state that Spaghetti-Os are healthy because there is only 1 gram of fat per serving. Pop Tarts are also healthy because they are low fat.
