The report "Health, United States, 2013" prepared by the CDC's (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) National Center for Health Statistics. States that half of all Americans take at least one prescription drug monthly. The report also found that about 10% of Americans take four or more monthly. In 2011 we spent $263 billion of precriptions. In addition the number of Americans dying from prescription drugs has tripled between 2000 and 2010.
