Dr. Wallach discusses over weight and obese children. Asserting that the problem arises because of nutritional deficiencies. Contending that children crave the sodas and sugary juices because of mineral deficiencies called "pica" and "cribbing" in animals.

Pearls of Wisdom

Dr. Wallach and Doug discuss a recent news story concerning a study done at Vanderbilt University. After studying medical records of almost 30,000 people. Dr. Willaim Cooper found that pregnant women taking ACE inhibitors for high blood pressure had an increased risk of giving birth to infants with serious birth defects. In fact the children were twice as likely to be born with serious heart and brain disorders when compared to those not exposed to the medications.
