Dr. Wallach starts the show today advocating people take control of their own healthcare. Contending that many of the simple tests that are often done in the doctors office can be done safely and economically at home. All of this because healthcare costs continue to skyrocket nationwide.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding health guidelines. Doctors use these guidelines much like a chef uses a recipe. Meaning these guidelines are used to determine what speicifc care a given patient should get for each given set of symptoms. Unfortunately new research shows that these guidelines are usually determined by opinions of a panel of healthcare experts. The new study also shows that many of these guidleines are set by professionals that have financial conflicts of interest.
