Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing a study from the University of Washington on longevity of U.S. women. The twenty year study found that during this time period the life expectancy for women has gone down by six months. Doc cites several of the statistics from the study and the reasons given by researchers for the drop in expectancy.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning report from the Mayo Clinic. After the clinic had 22 patients turn up with symptoms resembling celiac disease. However blood tests determined these patients had negative results for celiac disease. Further investigation revealed all of the patients were taking the hypertension medication called Olmesartan. When the patients were weaned off of the drug they showed significant improvement in their symptoms.
