Dr. Wallach starts the show citing statistic regarding the overall health of Americans. Contending the only health category the U.S. is number one is obesity. Asserting Americans are headed for epidemics of obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a recent report from the World Health Organization. The report states that many low and middle income countries are now seeing rises in type 2 diabetes and weight gain. The report states that one in ten world wide have type 2 diabetes. Half a billion people world wide are obese translating to 12% of the worlds population. Experts believe these increases are due to people adopting western diets and lifestyles.
