Dr. Wallach starts todays show discussing a news article in the AARP monthly magazine. Citing statistics that every surgeon averages making 40 mistakes a week. In total number of people killed in hospitals every year is the same a 4 jumbo jets crashing every week.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study on the percentages of overdiagnosed cancers. Researchers from Norway studied a large group of women for several years. Comparing breast cancer incidence rates and mortality rates of women who got routine mammograms and a group who did not. Finding the overdiagnosis rate is between 18% and 25% in other words one out of every six or one in four.
