Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the vast amount of deaths and injuries that occur in hospitals and clinics across the U.S. each year.  A recent US News and World Report study found that each year some 15.8 million people are harmed in some way by the medical industry.  Yet not one single OSHA ticket has been written while the same cannot be said for other industries where injuries and deaths occur.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a couple of news articles concerning doctors in trouble with the law.  The first article regards a doctor who along with two office managers illegally distributed 1.5 million Oxycontin pills over a 5 year time period.  The second article concerns a doctor who fraudulantly tried to get control of her dead boy friend's bank accounts and business.
