Dr. Peter Glidden fills in for Dr. Wallach today. Starting the show discussing the basic failure of our current medical system. Outlining the differences between MD directed allopathic medicine and ND directed holistic medicine. Where allopathic medicine mainly only treats the symptoms of disease. Naturopathic or holistic medicine treats the body as a whole system finding the cause of disease.
Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Glidden discuss a news article on a study of memory decline. Researchers looked at the berry consumption of over 16,000 women over the age of 70. Finding that those who ate at least 1/2 cup of blueberries per week or two 1/2 cups of strawberries show less memory decline. Lead researchers Elizabeth Devore believes this is due to the flavonoids found in berries a known powerful antioxidant that removes cell damaging free radicals from the body.
