Pearls of Wisdom

In the 1990s doctors started telling patients that gum disease was linked to heart disease. This because doctors found that many patients who had suffered heart attacks or strokes also had gum disease. Now review of over 500 studies addressing this purported connection between the two diseases. Researchers found that gum disease in fact does not cause heart disease although many heart attack and stroke patients have both.
