Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing a study funded by the National Institute of Health. The study tested cognitive decline in elderly people over the age of 65 or olders after hospital stays. Researchers examined over 1800 patients giving them a baseline cognitive test and followed them on average for nine years. Retesting their congnition again every 3 years and those who had been hospitalized for any length of time regardless of illness. Finding these older people who had been hospilized had cognitive decline 2.4 times faster than those who had not been hospitalized.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a report out from the Congressional Budget Office on the projected cost of Obamacare. The report states that over the next ten years through 2022 the gross spending to fully implement the universal healthcare will cost over $1.76 trillion. That's more than double what the administration said the cost would be when they were pushing this plan.
