Dr. Wallach discusses a U.S. News and World Report study published over a year ago that ranks the U.S. forty sixth in health and longevity. That means the people of 45 other countries live longer than Americans. While Americans spend more on health care than the other 45 countries combined.
Pearls of Wisdom
Dr. Wallach and Doug discuss a news article concerning a recent Harvard Medical School study. The study found that Americans are 42% more likely to have diabetes than Canadiens. Americans are also 32% more likely to have hypertension and 12% more likely to have arthritis. Doc asserts that the difference may lie in the fact that the Canadiens have to wait longer for procedures.
