Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing a news story regarding the social security disability fund. Lawmakers are saying the fund will be out of money by 2017. Officials at the fund are asking to borrow money from the social security retirement fund which also could be broke in the next couple of decades. Doc asserts that people should not wait around for this to happen. Contending people should prepare themselves by starting a Youngevity buisness.
Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story regarding a girl who was misdiagnosed several times. A pediatrician first diagnosed the girl with a sinus infection. When symptoms persisted the parents took the girl to the local emergency department where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Symptoms of overall weakness, dry cough and shortness of breath continued combined with vomiting. The girl was then transferred to a children's hospital where the staff realized she needed a cardiology team. So she was transferred to the University of Alabama where upon arrival she suffered a massive stroke. Doctors then implanted a device to help her heart pump to get her strong enough to withstand a heart transplant procedure. She finally got a transplant and is surviving despite all of the misdiagnosis.
