Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss an article about the use of stents. In 2006 the American Heart Association release a guide regarding the proper use of stents. The guidelines recommend that 24 hours after a heart attack if a patient is stable a stent is not recommend. Previous research has shown that stents in patients after 24 hours do not reduce death rates or future heart attacks.
