Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a couple of recent news stories. The first story concerns the "weekend effect". This is a term coined a few years ago when studies found that going to the hospital on weekends increased the risk of death for certain health challenges. A recent study has found that ischemic strokes can now also be added to that list. The second story concerns Coca Cola and PepsiCo starting to market "healthy drinks". Basically sodas with a few nutrients added, but the drinks are still carbonated.
