The first concerns a research done at Johns Hopkins University that found a compound in red wine help prevent brain damage following a stroke. Next they discuss a FDA warning about counterfeit diabetes test stripes. Apparently there are strips sold in several states that can give inaccurate results. The strips a sold to use with various models of LifeScan Inc. One Touch made by Johnson & Johnson. The bogus strips have been sold under the brand of One Touch Basic Profile lot numbers 272894A, 2619932 or 2606340 with English, Greek and Portuguese on the carton. Also sold under the name One Touch Ultra lot number 2691191 with English and French on the carton. Finally Doug discusses a poll taken by ABC News, the Kaiser Family Foundation and USA Today. The poll surveyed thousands of people across the nation about the state of our health care industry.
